Curriculum Vitae
Ana Costa Pereira was born in Vizela (1984), Portugal. In 2013 finished her Ph.D in Sports Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) (Vila Real, Portugal). Currently holds a position of Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal (IPS), teaching and researching in “Exercise Physiology”, “Exercise and Aging” and “Fitness”.
Since 2014 until now she is Coordinator of Degree in Sports in School of Education in IPS, managing multiple activities as pedagogical, technical, scientific, academic improvement and other enrichment activities. Since 2013, she is performed Erasmus mobility and participated in groups of research in IPS, namely as a Cocoordinator of Research Center in Education (CIEF). She is also an experience researcher in national local research centers (CIDESD and CIIAS-IPS), participating in research projects with different research groups and institutions. Acts as a reviewer of several ISI indexed journals. Research interests include preferably in the field of exercise physiology and strength training in particular the evaluation and modelling of human performance during ageing process, having published several papers in peer-review journals and books chapters. She is frequently invited to participate as scientific conferences related to “aging and exercise” in the Portuguese population and “sports for elderly people”. Currently she is member of the executive board of the International Society for Comparative Sport and Physical Education (www.iscpes-info.org).
